Redirected folders and non indexed networked folders

We are using group policy to redirect My Documents folders to our FreeNAS server. For most of the users, everything is fine but on a few the path is not being automatically added and I get the error "The network location can not be included because it is not indexed".

If these files were on Windows, there are a number of things we could do on the server side to fix this. I'm not entirely sure how to get around this since all of the files are on FreeNAS now.

Has anyone ran across this before? Thanks.
