as you can read in excruciating detail in the thread at
https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/epilog-instability-with-a1sri-2758f-o-help.25477/ ,
I have had interminable trouble with getting any modern version of windows (7 or later) to run reliably in a VirtualBox jail on an Atom motherboard.
I tried again this week with FreeNAS 9.10, with similar bad results. I am totally lost on how to do this with bhyve, and I'm not sure if it would make any difference.
The time has come to re-examine this, and I have a few questions:
1) Does anyone have windows running reliably in a jail? If so, what hardware and configuration are you using? I am considering an X10SLM-F motherboard with an i3-4170 processor for this build, and I'm wondering (hoping) if that will solve the stability problem. It's a little more expensive than the atom, but if it works, it's definitely worthwhile.
2) Does anyone have windows running in bhyve? If so, how did you get there?
ANY and all suggestions are welcome.
