Hey guys,
I am running a freenas server for quite some time now but i've had several (could be just one either) problems in the last months.
The hardware is a mini ITX Mainboard with a passively cooled i3 and 12GB of DDR3 RAM and two WD Green 3TB drives as a ZFS mirror with th onboard gigabit Ethernet controller. I checked the SMART values a few days after the initial install and made shure the "idle3 timer" problem the WD reen series is known for did not occur with my drives.
At the start i just noticed afew times that my NAS was not reachable and since it did not respond at all i had to "hard reboot" it. This happened a few times but i didn't have the time to figure out what it was. One time it did not even start properly so i hooked up a monitor to it and saw that it was stuck importing the pool. After a few hours it went online but said that one disk was offline and therefore the pool degraded. I replaced the drive with a new one and rebuilt the pool. I'm not shure whether the reboots continued afterwards.
A few weeks later i installed Owncloud and a Unison server, each in a seperate jail.
When i noticed reboots again i decided to replace the boot drive with a new one (both USB flash drives, the old one a Kingston, the new one a San Disk). Since i still get the reboots i thought you might be able to help me with the /var/log/messages log. The last message is the last one in the log before the next reboot a few hours later. I cant find anything there.
Any help appreciated! Thanks! :)
Oskar
