SOLVED Reboot when copying File to new Server

I am trying to copy my file from my main server to my backup and then switch the rolls. I have tired to use Replicate, Rsync, and just copy the files. When I try to copy the Files manually my Main server crashes.
Here are some of the errors I get when I try to run Replication:

First, my pool status show unhealthy, but when I run the results from the S.M.A.R.T test results I don't see anything that stands out.
Here is the results from one of the test, but they are all are about the same. I can put in the other drive too if needed. ID 5, 197,198,199 all have 0.

You should run a scrub to see if new defects show up. I suspect they will.

Do you have a one drive pool? I ask because you only provided ada0 drive info, that does not account for the other 5 drives.

You should post your hardware, maybe you have something questionable, and if you are looking for some good help information, we need it, hence why it's in the forum rules, so we can help better.

@joeschmuck I do have 2 vdevs with 3 drive in each. I have my hardware listed in my signature, but here it is too. I started the Scrub, but when it's done what do I do to view the results?

The permanent error showing is in a snapshot.

Question - you appear to have 7 SATA devices (6*HDD, 1 * SSD) yet the board only has 6 SATA ports and 1 M.2 (supporting SATA / NVMe)
Is your boot disk an M.2 format?

To view the results of the scrub - "zpool status -v"

Not sure if this is the issue but they might throw you an error, but I'm not experienced with SMR drive behavior... :smile:

SMR drives are expected to show up as issues during a resilver and possibly a scrub depending on what exactly is also going on at the same time. Heavy load together with a reasonable amount of writes will show up the SMR shortcomings.

You should plan to either replace the SMR drives with CMR drives or switch to using a filesystem which doesn't have the same issues with SMR as ZFS does... unfortunately that second option will mean replacing TrueNAS with something like OpenMediaVault.

@sretalla I'm trying to move everything over to my Dell T7910 (backup) with Western Digital WD80EMAZ-00WJTA0 drives, but so far be unable to.

"The Rental" has in some respect probably been corrupted. You however cannot delete it as its in a snapshot.
You could try deleting the entire snapshot auto-2021-08-19_00-00 under movies which might solve that issue.

chksum errors are often (but not always) the result of cabling issues. Are these the SMR drives or the CMR drives? How are they connected to the motherboard? How are the other drives connected to the motherboard?

@NugentS Some are SMR drive. I see that file being corrupted, but when I try to manually move the files it just crashes the PC. I was able to run a Replicate to push the data from the Old NAS (Main) to the new NAS (Backup), but after 5ish hours it did not actually do anything. The drive are connected with sata cables. I will replace the cables. It looks like all the WD drives in my new NAS are all CMR.

Try running a 24 hour memory test and see what turns up
of course you can't use the NAS during the test

I Switched out the RAM to see if I would work, I just needing to get the files from the Main to the backup and switch rolls. Now the PC will not boot up at all. I'm going to try and rebuild with another board, but if I remember I couldn't use this board before because the onboard ethernet did not work with TN Core. If I install Scale will I be able to use the config file from Core to rebuild the vdevs/Datasets?

No config file is needed for pool properties like vdev/datasets.

Thank you @Dice. I switch out the motherboard and I am now able to copy files over. I guess it was the board. I am still not sure why the vdev are showing unhealthy. It looks like none have errors. It shows Used paces 47% and 0 Disk errors. The long and short still have no errors on ID 5, 197,198,199. When do a zpool status -v it show that same file has a error. I deleted it, so I'm not sure what to do now.

I'd run a zpool scrub <pool> to have zfs run through checksums. This will repair errors where possible, but will not clear remaining error notifications seen in zpool status -v <pool>.
Clearing errors is done by zpool clear <pool>
