Hello fellow FreeNAS users.
I turned of my server yesterday after a long online streak.
Started it again today and noticed that I couldn't connect to the web-gui.

"The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later."

Also I can't access the samba shares. I got the user/password login box but my information doesn't allow me to login.

However the AFP and SSH still works...

Tried to restart the server, restart samba, restart avahi.
Still no luck.

Any Ideas? Where do I look now?
What logs should i check? (headless system right now)

Its probably a failing flash drive, but since you didn't bother to post the required details, like FreeNAS version, browser etc., you'll have to wait....

Sorry about that. 8.3.0 64bit release P1

I've tried to connect to the web server on every browser there is. From Mac and windows.

And as a said, smb not working. AFP and SSH working fine. Should that really be flash drive failing?

I've connected a screen to the system now and this is what it say:
libexec/id-elf.so1: /usr/local/bin/python: Unsupported version 24552 of Elf_Ve rneed entry
(i'll attach a photo as well bild.jpg )

As I said. Is there any logs I can check?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, we've seen it before. Re-install on a new flash drive and import your settings.

Alright, I'll trust you on this! I should have the settings backed up, but i'm unsure if I've made any changes recently that I would like to keep.

Is there a way to get a backup of the current setup through ssh?

This still seems a bit strange to me, is there anywhere I can read up on this issue? Trying to learn what I can.

Thanks for your help guys!

The configuration file is here: /data/freenas-v1.db

You can restore (and back it up) via the GUI.

Once you have restored your system I strongly recommend you create a backup of your configuration file through the GUI and save it some place safe.

Thanks, yeah I have a backup, just want to be sure that I have the latest.

I'll make the install later today.

Thanks again for all your help, glad there is a place like this out there!

May want to check the local console. I set up OpenVPN on my box before and had the same symptoms you do now (no web GUI, but shares work). It turns out, the machine was stuck at the booting process (asking for passphrase for the OpenVPN key file). Once I put the password in, it works as normal.

@Whattteva, if you'd read the entire thread, you would have seen that the OP already provided a screenshot in post #4.
