Hello all:
I'm planning on creating a new FreeNAS build but I'm trying to keep it under a budget for now. I'm planning on spending about $700 which gives me about 2x 3TB HDD's. I'm planning on setting up a UFS volume with those 2 disks until I can at least upgrade to 2 more 3TB HDD's. At that point I want to switch to ZFS and set up parity on one of the disks. My question is if I set up the original 2 disks as UFS and load them with data and then decide I want to change those disks to ZFS and include some other disks in that volume, will I lose that data? Will that even work?
