They aren't separate things, that's the planned evolution of 13.0 as it matures. Those are just estimated dates for how it will progress. RC1 first, then RELEASE, then Updates. Timelines might change, or there could be an RC2.

If RC1 is pushed back, other dates may be pushed back also.

Go to System > Boot and activate the 12.0-U8 boot environment, then reboot into it.

No.. RC1 is still pre-release. Guard rails are still in place. It will require a download and a manual update.


Edit.. my answer was from a 12.0-U8 perspective there is no UI update
However, from 13.0 ETA there is.

Updated successfully to RC1. Smb (without ACL), cloud sync, jails (minidlna, qbittorrent, plex, urbackup) are working fine. Thanks!

Looks like everything works as it should (knock on wood, it's running for 30 minutes now).

Also the jail with transmission and the VPN Wireguard client via kernel module works without issue after the restart. Samba, nfs as well.

Now looking forward to install on my other machines.

Suggest you check Jira and release notes... if you can't find it, let us know.
