Here's the relevant details of my hardware
  • CASE: Lian Li A76
  • MOBO: Supermicro X11SSH-F-O
  • HDDs: 12x6TB WD Red + 4xLian Li bp3sata backplanes + 4x silverstone CP06 capacitor sata cables
  • PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus SSR-650PX
I've done my burn in on CPU / Memory, flashed my HBA to 20.07 IT, installed my OS, powered up my system and can see all my hard drives. So far so good!

Given my sata backplanes, I'm dedicating one peripheral PSU port to each set of 3 hard drives. The problem is, I only have 4 peripheral ports on this PSU, and I still have 3 fans with molex connectors that I want to power. Is it possible I could somehow use one of the CPU / PCIe ports on the PSU to power these fans, or is that insane? Do I have other options?
