I'm running an Intel Pentium G3258 and just returned my gaming board that didn't support ECC ram. I pulled the trigger on a SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SLL-F-O this morning but ran into an issue. The RAM type specified by the board is DDR3-1600 but my proc says it supports DDR3-1333.

Is this board going to be able to use DDR3-1333 RAM?

Huh, never noticed the Pentiums were only rated for DDR3-1333.

Just get DDR3-1600 (baseline these days). It'll run at DDR3-1333.

Edit: Haswell is only rated for 1600 from i3 and up. Broadwell Xeon E3 v4 is rated for 1866.

That's what I figured...that it would just run a bit slower. I was getting nervous that I would have to order a 3rd board...

Think I'm going to go with this Mushkin Proline 8GB kit.

I'd recommend something more widely used.

......I used your post as a recommendation for it.

So Crucial?

That was only meant to identify what is ECC RAM from what is not. It was not an endorsement of a particular model or brand. The only RAM I recommend is what is qualified by the motherboard manufacturer.
