Hi there,
I'm running TrueNAS SCALE -22.12.3.2

My System:
- MAINBOARD: SUPERMICRO X11SCH-F
- CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) E-2126G CPU @ 3.30GHz
- MEMORY: 4x Crucial RAM CT32G4DFD8266 32GB DDR4 2666MHz
- HBA: LSI 9210-8i = (9211-8i) 6Gbps SAS HBA FW: P20
- HD: 8 x Seagate Exos, 18 TB
- M.2 NVMe: 2 x Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe SSD (Boot)

took the failed disk offline as described here:

Then shut down the server, installed a new disk and started it.
But then I have no way of doing a replace:

should I provide more information?
Thank you for your support in advance!

Does the new disk shows up in GUI? Is is a blank disk or is there a filesystem on it?

Incidentally, I wonder why you're using a HBA even though the motherboard has 8 SATA ports.
As you have more ports than your pool requires, the best procedure here would be to leave the old drive in place (if it's not completely failed) and additionally plug in the replacement drive, so you can replace the drive without losing redundancy throughout the process.

I thought the HBA would give me more stability than the onboard SATA ports.
but it looks like that way it is just another component that can fail?

okay, I leave the old drive place and additionally plug the new drive on a motherboard SATA port.

I will report

Thank you Etorix

Hello everybody,

to complete my thread.

Yes, my pool is now online again.
I connected an additional new hard drive via external USB, it was recognized and I was able to use it as a "replace".
