BUILD Rack Mounted Case/Chassis Suggestions

My esxi server is purpose built for my lab studies and needs about 16gb minimum.I did a quick check on the Dell R170 which seems good enough for about $200 but looks like a 747 type machine when it comes to noise.My esxi server in its 4U case is pretty quiet. This downsizing was to bring down my 24U rack to a 12U but if i keep my 4U case I will have to get a 15U rack minimum to give my eqp some room to breath...
