I am at my wits' end with Windows Home Server and I would like to use my existing server hardware with a FreeNAS installation if possible. Before I get started I have a few questions about my configuration and whether it is possible or not.
My current hardware looks like this:
Intel D510MO (Atom based 64 bit dual core)
4GB RAM
2x750GB hard drives
Integrated LAN/SATA
(1) From what I have read, my hardware might not be beefy enough to run ZFS so should I stick to UFS?
(2) I would like to keep the 2x750GB as a RAID 1 setup. I have no problem formatting the existing drives.
(3) In addition, I would like to add another large (2TB) hard drive to be used as a Time Machine and Acronis target disk for client machine images. Is it possible to have a raided volume as well as another disk split into two non-raid volumes?
Thanks in advance!
