Hello, I know that TrueNas has its own CLI and all commands should be executed through them to be permanently saved in the system, but I am bothered by the issue of ZFS. Question: Can ZFS commands be executed directly without CLI? Is it safe? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thank you for the information :), I'm glad to can use it directly. I want to be able to manipulate the filesystem from the command line, but I was not sure if I can do it since the rest of the commands have to be executed via the CLI in order to be persistent.

Well, it depends on what you want to do from the shell. Generally speaking it's better to use our CLI or API unless you're just grabbing counters / FS info.

Thank you for the information, It shed more light on the way of working with TrueNas, I must admit that I am preparing to migrate to truenas and I am currently training in this area.
