Question on IBM Drives DDYS-T09170

Hi

I have the opportunity to buy 25 of these drives brand new at around $60/each.

Are these drives good for a Truenas Project? Does anyone have experience with it?

They are worthless today. Capacity of 9GigaBytes? Really... Further, they are wide low voltage differential parallel SCSI, not really in use today.

Last time I worked with 9GigaByte drives was 20 years ago. (Well, not counting the time I had to resurrect dead disk arrays...)

Everything today uses one of the following physical interfaces;

1. SATA
2. SAS
3. NVMe

Don't feel bad, everyone makes a mistake every now and then. I spelled out GigaBytes to make sure you know. But, you didn't, so all good.

By the way, we have meetings once a month for "I was an Idiot once!" club. We discuss the bone head things we did without thinking it through. Lots of fun remembering with fellow former idiots .
