QEMU - Emulate other architecture

I really like TrueNAS, so i decided to kick the tires of SCALE. I like it a lot. I was wondering however, is it feasible to install extra qemu-system-[arch] in the OS? I notice its Deb based, and the manual says don't use apt, so that would be out. I would like to be able to emulate arm and mips architecture via qemu on bare metal if possible, instead of through a VM, and eliminate that extra layer. Containerized perhaps? I haven't gotten that far into it to poke at that capability just yet..

Neat idea. We could consider offering the other qemu packages / knobs in a future version of SCALE. Suggest you make a suggestion ticket on Jira for us to track that, and let other users vote on the feature getting priority.
