Hi All. Glad to be part of your community.

I am very new to all of this (2nd day in fact) and i am trying to configure jails and set up a FAMP.

When i open session in putty im met with a login screen however when i enter root and then password it says access denied.

I can login in ok with a user i created however when trying to select a jail it says operation not permitted.

Can anyone offer some friendly advice as im loosing hair as we speak.

Thanks

James.

Do you have the SSH service enabled under Services tab in the GUI?
It should have a check mark in the little box for "start on boot".

Under the settings (click the little wrench icon) and see how your settings are configured.

Yep have SSH enabled.
That seemed to work i had not set up login as root password thanks.

I have however got another user "jRogers" (Part of wheel group) that logs in fine also but using commands
jls and jexec 1 csh
comes up with operation not permitted

Try giving that user (jRodgers) the su designation (super user), but TBH that's a guess on my part...
