Hello

I am having problems deleting or removing a snapshot that I created awhile back. I read the manual, and it looks extremely straight forward, but I receive an error whenever I try to delete it. I don't know the exact error message, but it mentions the owncloud plugin. I tried unactivating that plugin before deleting the snapshot, but no luck. Is there a step that I must do before hitting the delete/destroy snapshot button?

Cheers

Again, I appologize, but I don't remember. I am at work. I can post it tonight. The main question is if there is a precursor to deleting the snapshot? Something I need to do first?

Cheers
Patrick

Could the dataset to be deleted be mounted on a directory in the plugin jail? Or part of a dataset that is so mounted? If so, it needs unmounting rather than just stopping the plugin running.

I have two snapshots that provided two different errors:

cannot destroy 'vdev/jails/.warden-template-pluginjail@clean': snapshot has dependent clones use '-R' to destroy the following datasets: vdev/jails/

cannot destroy 'vdev/jails/.warden-template-pluginjail-9.2-x64@clean': snapshot has dependent clones use '-R' to destroy the following datasets: vdev/jails/owncloud_1

Looks like jails use snapshots when they get created. So as long as you have your jails still you can't remove those snapshots. I'm not sure how this actually works but that is how it appears.

I tried to destroy both datasets, but I receive the same message in the storage tab. So, I can't destroy the dataset, or the snapshot? What does the "-R" mean?

It's weird. These datasets do not appear in the jails tab. I am not sure when they were created. I believe during a plugin install. Regardless, I can't seem to destroy them. They are the two above owncloud

do you have plugins or jails installed? you will need to remove them before you can delete those two snapshots.
