I was thinking about building a FreeNAS running ZFS. Right now I shoot and iscsi target using openfiller VM to the wifes vista comp and it is in turn backed up through carbonite. Right now my collection of family vids and pics stands at 330Gb. I opened up an old pic to discover a black screen. I checked carbonite and found out it did a great job backing up the corrupted file. I think ZFS can help. What do you guys think? How cheaply can I fix this issue? If I build a box should I shoot for 4Tb? I need to be able to upgrade it if I have to, 1080 home vids are not small. Any help will be most welcome.

thanks. After thinking about my setup. I woud like to shoot 3 iscsi targets two will go to two vmware servers to provide storage for my vms and the third will go back to the wifes computer so carbontie can backup the collection. Can Freenas do this? how beefy would this box need to be. Would a 6 drive setup be prefered or can I make due with a standard 4 drive setup.
