Howdy folks! So I have been running 9.2 since who knows when... a few years at least. I run freenas in a very basic sense as a file storage box 2x2TB drives in a simple raid 1 mirror. I made the 'smart' decision to upgrade to 11.2 stable directly from 9.2. Yep my bad there. I run the unit headless and there is not currently a video card installed.

After updating I just get a 404 nginx page. freenas boots from a usb stick. Can I just reinstall freenas to the usb? Will it recognize the drives if I do so? Any direction is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to locate a gpu so I can connect a monitor to aid in debugging the issue before doing anything else. I think it may be related to the owncloud plugin which I had tried but never really used. I can see the machine on the network and it is obviously running to the point of displaying the 404 nginx page.

Ok I managed to squeeze a way too long GPU into my box to debug and successfully restored my boot back to 9.10.2-U6.

To upgrade you will need to upgrade to the latest of each major version. 9.10->11.1->11.2->11.3

Alas no dice... I attempted 9.10 - 11.1. Looking at upgrading my NAS so I think I will do a fresh install after the upgrades and migrate the data over.
