good afternoon everyone

I have a question because there is something that I do not understand, on the main page when I load the main page of my NAS with SO FREENAS 11.2 I see that the RAM consumption meter always goes up in memory consumption and without executing anything in the NAS

is that normal or not?

if it is not as I see what is generating the expense

or is it just a measurement error

Unused RAM is wasted money, ZFS will fill it with useful things

Your up time is only barely over 1 day. Over time, it will use up all available RAM through ARC, but it takes a few days or longer, depending on usage. The system hasn't been up long enough to use up RAM. Give it some time.

Your FreeNAS system uses a file system called ZFS and ZFS uses RAM for cache of file operations. Your system should fill all but about 2GB of available memory with ARC (Adptive Replacement Cache) data and that is normal. It is meant to make the NAS more responsive by keeping frequently used information in memory.

You want to keep your FreeNas running 247. Its not meant to be powered on and off.

It is not the default mode for a NAS to suspend because it has no way of knowing when it might be accessed again over the network.

Thank you very much everyone for the explanation is that I am totally new using FREENAS
If you take a look at the "Useful Links" in my signature, there is a lot of reading there that will help you learn more about FreeNAS and ZFS.
