Problem with SMB permissions

Using FreeNAS-9.10.2-U6 (561f0d7a1)

I'm having this very weird behavior with SMB sharing.

Today I created a new user.

It appears that their SMB ID is the same as the SMB ID as a group, therefore it messed up two of my shares.

So let's say I have a share called DATA.

DATA was configured with permissions for a group X.

In Windows, when I look at the security tab, the group X is gone and has been replaced by user Y.

So I try to edit this: remove user Y, then add group X.

Once I refresh, group X is gone and user Y is back.

In STORAGE, the share type of the dataset is set to WINDOWS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

That is quite an old version and a lot has changed in Samba since then. Are you able to find an upgrade window to incrementally update to the latest version?
