OK, this is just getting silly.. The box I'm working on has been running fine for a year with its main LAN connection via a LAGG to two switches, with three VLAN's running on it plus untagged traffic for its 'Primary' interface. To troubleshoot a VLAN'ed Jail issue I needed to change the LAGG configuration so that its carrying only tagged traffic.
In order to do this I created an temporary interface onto another subnet using a spare NIC, so I could connect to the GUI, delete then re-create the LAGG and VLAN interfaces. All fine and straightforward, however... I'm now having terrible trouble getting FreenNAS to use the original primary interface address which is now configured onto a VLAN instead of directly to the LAGG.
Instead, its 'clinging' onto the temporary interface, designating it the 'Primary NIC'.
How can I force FreeNAS to use the interface ***I*** want to use as the primary NIC ???
