That sounds like an excellent deal for the Xeon version--I'd seen prices around $200 before, but that was with a Pentium, and I haven't seen them recently at all. Toss out (or repurpose) the HDD and DVD, add an 8 GB stick of RAM, and you've got a pretty decent home NAS box.

Well, I did pick up one. :) FedEx says it'll be here tomorrow.
It will be a replacement for my existing four core AMD Athlon build, and maybe FreeNAS 10 in the future.
