First off, I just build my Freenas box this weekend, I got everything up and running, and I see it has issues copying some files.... quite the annoyance...

I took my Downloads directory as a test total size 47gigs and copied it over to the NAS, when I get a File access Denied pop up in Windows(10)....

I tried again to replicate the error and for what ever reason, the file is a Linux Mint ISO, it copy's the whole file over, Twice! then it hits me with the permission error, if I hit continue, the speed drops to 0 eventually and the transfer dies.

Your motherboard isn't really recommended and I wonder if it has a realtek nic. You might also have a permissions problem. Can you show how you auth and what the permissions are in your dataset.

Folks, do remember that @joeschmuck uses this mobo without issue. Of course he did add an Intel Pro/1000 CT NIC. I recommend that the OP add one too.

But as SweetAndLow said it could be a permissions issue.

Then I stand corrected. I didn't realize this was the same mobo that joeschmuck used. ;)

Torches and pitchforks have been replaced with rubberized, soft signs with no sharp edges, following OSHA complaints.
