I've got 3 pools on 3 separate disks.
All were created under 11.3U2 without encryption. one pool per disk
Since i upgraded to Truenas 12 after boot, i get;
- Mounting local filesystems
- Beginning pools import
- Importing first disk
- then what looks to be errors / information
GEOM_ELI Device ada1p1.eli created
GEOM_ELI Encryption AES-XTS 128
GEOM_ELI Crypto Hardware
- Importing second disk
- then what looks to be errors / information
GEOM_ELI Device ada1p1.eli created
GEOM_ELI Encryption AES-XTS 128
GEOM_ELI Crypto Hardware

It even has these messages for the swap drive. sample of the messages attached.

what's going on please?

This is normal behavior. The GEOM_ELI lines indicate TrueNAS adding the swap partitions of all your drives into a GELI-encrypted mirror. The other lines indicate low-level details of the ZFS file system on each drive in your pool as the import on boot proceeds. Think of it as the equivalent of a file system check per disk.
