My goal is to reconfigure my 6x 3TB z2 into a 10x 3TB z2 pool.

However, before I can do that I need to move the data out of the pool. The current (6x 3TB) pool is 77% full. That works out to about 8TB of data.

My question is, can I create a 6x 3TB pool using USB drives to temporarily hold the data?

Or is there a better way?

USB drives are high risk for disaster. Not recommended.

Yeah.. don't do nullfs with FreeNAS. You'll be sorry. ;)

Like what has been said in the forums about a bajillion times... if you can't do it in the WebGUI you probably shouldn't be doing it...

I wouldn't attempt it anyway. I researched a bit about it and really don't have a grasp about what it does and how it would help me attain my goal. A good bit above my skill set.
