Hi all. I just finished reading the very useful sticky "The path to success for block storage ". I learned that I will need to use mirrors and have at least 32-64 GB of Ram. The question I'm trying to answer is how many mirrored vdevs would be necessary to get decent performance? Would 2-4 mirrored vdevs be enough? I'm hoping to have a 2-3 workstations hitting this storage as a pool for running applications off of via iSCSI.
I currently have a raid 10 array on an LSI hardware raid card with 4 600GB 2.5" 10K drives and I get about 500 MB/s for read and 250 MB/s for write. I'm hoping to match or exceed those stats once I move to ZFS using higher capacity drives.
Thanks for the input in advance.
