what happens when you run 'service sonarr onestart'

ohh and can you try deleting the pidfile first.
rm -r /var/run/sonarr

I'm having trouble updating Sonarr. Looks like i have to change permission for some other folders as well.

Yup, for updates Sonarr would need to own its source directory. /usr/pbi/sonarr-amd64/share/sonarr
