Plex recently came out of its beta phase according to the developers over there and achieved 1.0.

This would normally be great news if they hadn't made the software more bug ridden then when it was in beta.

The client doesn't work on many android devices and when it does its playback is often a mess.

The server isn't scanning movies correctly some how getting confused between actually movies and home media regardless of what section you put things in or what scanner you set them for.

The most recent server update can't be used since they went and made plugin.library's read only.

Plex doesn't talk about development but one has to wonder what the heck they are thinking realsing stuff like this which clearly hasn't been tested enough.

I didn't even notice, everything just kept working. Also this 1.0 release is kind of old now, hasn't it been out for about a month?

I haven't had any major problems with Plex several months, and generally then it was new functionality in a client that needed a server upgrade.

They've even fixed the FreeBSD update issue in 1.02 and I got a message to tell me 1.03 was available :D

Still need to update it manually, but thats only a few commands and minutes to run.

My 2nd favourite open source software after FreeNAS!

Hopefully they addressed the issues in the last plex update that prevented any updates since 1.0.

Yup plex does work fine still on many devices that haven't really been affected by the recent changes but there many that have which shouldn't have happened.

There been some fairly basic bugs being introduced that should never made it past testing.

Transcoding issues on flag ship phones, scanning issue in the server where the wrong scanner is set for movies at random points.

Unusable updates for nas based systems.

Lots of bugs that really shouldn't be there and ironically weren't there when it was in beta lol.

Hopefully its just people on vacation because if this trend continues its only a matter of time before we end up with a bug that's going to be major.
