I dont really want to read for the next 6 months trying to figure out wtf is going on, i tried for about a week reading what everyone has done to get pms to download metadata, most of this NAS stuff is over my head but someday Ill learn it all.
so i setup plex on freenas via plugin setup jails im pretty sure correctly then i could start the plex media but the meta data would not download. i fooled around with permissions nothing happened then i read to uncheck vimage, which i have no idea what it is, nothing worked but after doing this I would refresh media to search for metadata then go to freenas webgui and change permissions to set recursively and metadata would download but it wont save. in other words everytime i need to download metadata i have to set permissions recursively? what the hell....
