Well i try booting and it says "reboot and select proper boot media" i have freenas on the drive but its not working for some reason

I have 3 options for the usb. They are; usb and 2 uefi options (they all seem to be the usb)

I used UNetbootin to mount the iso the the usb (i have a mac if that helps)

You pull up a terminal window on your Mac and use dd the way the manual tells you to.

You would use dd directly on the Mac. There is no need for a PC. Unetbootin DOESN'T work for most Linux distros these days as well as failing miserably with FreeBSD.

Ok so my box is up and running currently running plex server and no problems yet. Thank you to those who have helped along the way. I sure have learned a ton. For the future I plan on running a own cloud which i can access from WAN, as of right now i know a vpn such of openvpn is critical to have but find it confusing ill probably start a thread on that when I'm ready.

oh btw quick question i am able to see my freenas in my network in "finder" but sometimes it just disappears. any solutions to this?
