Plans for Active directory users to be allowed ownership

Are there any plans to allow Active Directory users to be specified in the ownership in the ACLs? Core has allowed this for years. Why doesn't Scale?

Yes, the autocomplete doesn't work. Also, the interface shows it as an error when you have manually keyed it in as well. The owner does not accept active directory accounts, but group ownership allows you to autocomplete active directory groups and accepts them for the ACLs.

Hmmm that's odd. I swear this was working before.
Autocomplete worked for owner group but not owner for me just now.
Tried a couple of AD users.

That's what I'm referring to. I can't assign ownership to an active directory account. We are able to in Core. It can cause havoc especially when the core datasets were owned by active directory users and you migrate to scale and then need to change active directory owner for things like connecting to NFS. That was part of the reason why I had to rebuild my NAS at work and revert back to Core. We're not even going to try to migrate again until this gets resolved.

Depends on how you have the active directory connection set. I set the option to specify the domain (we're a single domain setup) and it still did not work in the UI.

I understand that. The domain is only showing and required if the advanced settings for Active Directory are set that way.

When you have "Use Default Domain" checked it is not required to have the Domain as part of the user name for ACLs or ownership.

This screen is from Core, but there is a similar place in the UI under Scale.

Oh I get it, I was just demonstrating that the default settings in SCALE are set in such a way that don't require the domain, since @anodos had asked. In otherwords, there really does appear to be a bug. I opened a bug report. https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/bro...yNGEwNDk5M2FmZjJjYmJmNDZmY2NjNTEiLCJwIjoiaiJ9

I'm sorry, I thought that was @anodos making a point. I read the message and not the sender. I apologize for the confusion on my part.
