Folks,

Just wanted to give everybody a quick heads up. We are going to do a rapid-response release of 9.10.1-U2 to address some of the issues seen in -U1. Specifically this will address some bugs in updating, vbox, and replication. If you want to track the specifics, keep watch here.

https://bugs.freenas.org/projects/freenas/issues?query_id=273

Thanks for the reports everybody, and we appreciate your patience while we get this all sorted out.

Thanks Kris for the update!!

I am curious, the bugfix for the Media group problem is to check for the existing group and don't create it if it already exists, https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/17789 , what then? Are you going to create a differently named group, or are you assuming that users with media groups have already managed there default permissions and leave it at that, what if the users media group has nothing to do with ticket 16263 and they wanted that feature? It seems to me that leaves your userbase with 2 different default configurations depending on how the media group was implemented, not an ideal situation....

At the moment it will just use the existing "media" user / group previously created. This is just a convenience user, we don't really make any special use of it, other than provide it for users to share things between plugins / jails. (If they so choose)

9.10.1-U2 is available.

Update: Uptime now 3:42, no apparent problems with (system-local) replications so far.

I'm having trouble :( When i upgraded from U1 to U2, the system rebooted. And i now can't boot into system anymore.

Same, I let the GUI do the update now the system won't boot.

Disregard, somehow the upgrade changed my boot device, switched it back and all is well.

same here, just go to bios change boot device, then it's ok..

Guys, suggest you create a new thread as this one is old. We're now on FN 9.10.2-U2.
