I‘m about to buy a new ConnectX 4 25Gbit Card, but there‘s only one PCIe 3 x4 Slot in my PC.
PCIe x4 gets about 32Gbit which should be enough, but the ConnectX4 is a Dual Port Card. I only need one port right now, but will a x4 Slot be enough for using a 25Gbit Connection? Or will the the Card divid the Lanes and every port will get only 16Gbit, even if you won’t use the second port?
Would it be, for example, possible to use one Port with 25Gbit and one Port with 1Gbit? Or when using both Ports @ 25Gbit in a x4 Slot would the Card automatically split the Bandwidth to the Port that’s in use?
