Greetings,

I’m in the need of a SLOG in my Freenas, and i was wondering if this device would be supported, so i can add a MSATA in it.

I have no real room for anything, it’s a HP server and there are no power or sata connectors available , well there is on but that is some sort of proprietary, HP connector for their optical drive.

Any cheap PCIE device that has reasonable performance would be acceptable as well. And is supported.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience here.

at that price it can't be a proper LSI controller under there.

hp builds many servers... elaborate.

Its a HP DL380 G7, but the important part is that i have no more room for classic hard drives in it either 2,5 or 3,5 form factor, all slots already used.

If you're looking at an SLOG, you should also be looking at non-bottom of the barrel SSDs.

Intel's P3700 (P3600 or P3500 might also be enough) are available in a half-height PCI-e format. You'd need to make sure FreeNAS 9.3 has NVMe support working, though.
