Hello all,

New to FreeNAS and attempting my first Jail. I'm trying to install Splunk 6.2.2 in a FreeBSD 9.3 jail but pkg is not cooperating.

I'm not able to run "pkg install splunk" as a package doesn't exist on the freebsd repository.

However, I am able to download the package using wget from splunk.com and I've verified that Splunk supports FreeBSD 9 on x64 systems.

Once I've downloaded the .tgz, I move it to /var/cache/pkg but even then pkg states that it's not a valid package.

Any assistance is welcome.

Thanks!

And? What was the problem? Some other person will find your post with the same problem, sir.
I'm guessing the OP feels it was an embarrassing PEBKAC and doesn't want to come clean with it.

So be it. But it's not the FreeBSD way sir!!!!
