OpenVPN Service ALL Traffic

Hello everyone

I recently set up OpenVPN as a service in TrueNAS to access files remotely.

Problem is, when a client connects, by default ALL of its internet traffic seems to be routed through the server, which is unnecessary and annoying.

I tried searching around about this issue but surprisingly few people see a problem with this, and all possible solutions rely on configuring all the clients.

Does a server-side solution exist?

I think I found a solution somewhere involving deleting some line on the server openvpn config file, but i don't know if those edits will survive a reboot

Will post hardware/software specs if necessary. Can't access server until tomorrow

No, you cannot force a client not to route traffic at you. The best you can hope for is to drop unwanted traffic with a firewall rule or something along those lines.

If this is inadvertent, the solution is to fix the client config (if the route is being specified there) or the server config (if a default route is being pushed to the client).
