Hi,
I followed many guides on the internet on how to set up an openldap server using a raspberry pi. All I want is to have a central place for user authentication for my FreeNAS 11-2, Nextcloud, etc. One of such guides was this one.
I create an "ou" on my ldap server, and a group, and users. I've put their gids and uids quite high to avoid any conflict with the range of local entities on FreeNAS.
I don't get any errors on the gui, but so far, no user shows up when I do a
It would be cool if anyone could come up with a good how-to on how to start with a small set up for having a directory-based authentication to FreeNAS. Could anyone share their experience on what to look for in a situation like this?

getent passwd
. Running a ldapsearch works fine, so I see my certificates and correctly installed and all. It would be cool if anyone could come up with a good how-to on how to start with a small set up for having a directory-based authentication to FreeNAS. Could anyone share their experience on what to look for in a situation like this?
