On Fresh Install of TrueNAS Scale, LLDP service is missing

Hi All, I'm a new user to TrueNAS, and was curious about this.

I've just done a fresh install of TrueNAS Scale: TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.3.1
I was keen to check the port info using LLDP, and found this doc on how:

/scale/scaledeprecatedfeatures/

However, when I go to System Settings -> Services I haven't got an LLDP service there. Is there something I need to do to install the service?

I don't believe SCALE has ever supported LLDP. I'm guessing it may be a carryover from CORE, which does support it. You can certainly feel free to report it as a bug (see "Report a Bug" at top of page).

For anyone else who runs into this, I've been able to get the LLDP information using tcpdump in the "System Settings -> Shell" interface:
sudo tcpdump -vvvnni eno1 'ether proto 0x88cc' # to dump LLDP for eno1 interface

You're not going to get an (accurate) answer to that question here. Why not report it as a bug/feature request and see what the developers say?

Dirty hack until lldp appears in the official repository:
# wget http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/lldpd/lldpd_1.0.11-1+deb11u1_amd64.deb
# chmod u+x /bin/dpkg
# /bin/dpkg -i lldpd_1.0.11-1+deb11u1_amd64.deb
# chmod u-x /bin/dpkg
# sed -i.bak "s/^#DA/DA/" /etc/default/lldpd
# service lldpd restart
wait some time and use lldpctl for information watching, dpkg -P for remove lldpd.
