So now it's saying 6.2 years? Weird!
Did you ever pull the drive to see when it was manufactured?
Haven't had the chance yet, but I'll post a pic of the label soon. I'm really confused as to how the
reported numbers could have such a disparity between attribute #9 figures and the numbers shown with the tests,
perhaps it's a firmware glitch???

Wow, 2004-09 date code. To think that we'd just bought a (very crappy, in hindsight) Pentium 4 2.8GHz local OEM box, firmly planted exclusively in the PATA world a month earlier or so...
