Official Plex app won't play 4K HDR files

Hi I am brand new to TrueNAS so apologies if I have made any rookie errors.

I recently migrated from from a Windows based NAS to TrueNAS Scale. I am having a problem with Plex (official app) where I cannot play my 4k HDR files. I get the message "Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install." This doesn't happen with any other media files, whether it is direct play or transcoded.

I checked the Plex log and it throws this error message: "Apr 11, 2023 14:57:14.575 [0x7ff2e6f69b38] ERROR - Couldn't copy file "/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/com.plexapp.plugins.library.db" to "/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases/tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud-a15d6c66-a2aa-4de5-9f05-fff2bb49cffa-loading.db": Operation not permitted".

I have set permissions for the dataset to include full access for apps. Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated.

Side note - I also get an error when starting the app "Startup probe failed: dial tcp 192.168.1.27:32400: connect: connection refused" not sure if this is related but I am able to access Plex no problem outside my network. I don't get this error with any other apps.

My system info is:
System - TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.1
Plex - 1.31.3.6868_1.7.35
CPU - Intel Core i7 4790k
RAM: 16GB
Storage - 3x 18tb Seagate Exos - RAIDz1

Thanks.

It seems to me like the library location needs to be written to, but can't be.

You could try messing around with it in a shell in the application to see if you can create files there or not, but I would just change to use the TrueCharts app and save yourself the trouble.

Thanks, I'll give the TrueCharts app a shot!
