v3 with NZXT H440 and Supermicro X11SL-CF.

Of course though now the RAM is OOS :) Looks like there aren't many X11SL-CF's to go around too, so third-party sellers are jacking the prices up to $400+ USD. I think this motherboard usually goes for around $250 USD. Maybe I can fall back to the X11SSM-F and use a SAS2 HBA in one of the x8 slots.

Quite sad NZXT didn't go with 6 dual-hdd sleds and instead have the 11th hdd mounted on the chassis floor. Seems like there's plenty of space there for a 6th sled..

Yes, I already do offsite backups of selective data using rsync. It would be trivial to build a lean pfsense box and put it on the other side if I needed to as they're quite cheap compared to the suggested pair of FreeNAS boxen.
