Hello everyone,
Just hooked up my monitor on my freenas server to check something. Now the server is running and not showing any any errors in the interface
it shows the following:
ntpd_initres[3017]: host name not found : 0.freebsd.pool.ntp.org
ntpd_initres[3017]: host name not found : 1.freebsd.pool.ntp.org
ntpd_initres[3017]: host name not found : 2.freebsd.pool.ntp.org

Can someone tell me what this means? do I need to fix this? can't find anything on google on this.

It's the NTP service trying to reach a time server. The 'host name not found' is a clue that DNS is not operational on your FreeNAS box. You need to verify your DNS settings and default gateway.

It probably means your network configuration is missing either a default gateway or a DNS server. Did you manually configure a static IP address on your FreeNAS box, or is it picking it up from a DHCP server?
