For some reason, two nights ago, I received my usual daily run output email, but no security run email. I have one other cron sending a custom SMART status email, and it came through as normal.

Last night, the security email was sent as normal, so it was a one time occurrence.

Any ideas as to why this might have happened and/or how to troubleshoot? Is there some log I can look at to see if it was sent or if there was some problem?

It may have been filtered as spam by your mail provider, so they may have deleted it without you even knowing. They do delete far more mail every day than you think because of their spam filters. They're usually very careful what emails get flagged for auto-delete, but they do make mistakes.

If that were the case, it would be very odd. I am sending the email to myself (send account = receive account) via a gmail account, and it would have shown up in the spam folder if it got flagged. Every other email has gotten though.

I suppose there could have been some type of momentary outage, but the daily and security run emails go out at very close to the same time (within a minute).

Are there any error logs generated by sendmail or anything if it fails?
