NO Member disk.. so frustrated

Hi,

I have been looking for all solution in this forum.

I have tried several solution but no luck.

Im kinda frustrated.. Although even if i used this command.

[root@freenas] ~# camcontrol devlist
<ATAPI iHAS124 B AL0L> at scbus0 target 0 lun 0 (pass0,cd0)
<WDC WD2002FAEX-007BA0 05.01D05> at scbus1 target 0 lun 0 (ada0,pass1)
[root@freenas] ~# sysctl -in kern.disks
ada0 cd0

[root@freenas] ~# diskinfo ada0
ada0 512 2000398934016 3907029168 0 0 3876021 16 63

its actually there. what supposed to be the problem why i cant select disk from GUI. No volume.jpg pls help thank you

Can you post "gpart show"?

If there is any partition info the GUI may think it's in use. Also you didn't mention which version of FreeNAS you're using.

im using FreeNAS-8.0.4-RELEASE-x86 (10351).

here is the result of gpart show

=> 63 3907029105 ada0 MBR (1.8T)
63 1930257 1 freebsd [active] (943M)
1930320 63 - free - (32K)
1930383 1930257 2 freebsd (943M)
3860640 3024 3 freebsd (1.5M)

is there anything wrong?

:) Yes... it looks like you have FreeNAS installed on your harddrive, and I don't see any USB flash drive.

Did you not understand FreeNAS was supposed to be installed on a USB flash drive?

sorry im just new with freenas.. so do you mean freenas should be run on flash drive?

Yes, it would probably be better to use a 4GB, some of the 2GB's are less than 2GB and it won't install correctly.

Look in my signature in the post above, there are links for the documentation and YouTube videos on how to install it.

i see.. ok ill try it to install it to my usb flash drive.. ill get back if it is perfectly done

it works.. I used USB. I can now see the drive.

what I amazed is that.. our primary freenas was not running using USB.. it runs on its own drive.. but unfortunately if I view the storage.. same thing it doesnt show the drive.
but what is unique is you can see that there is /mnt folder..

Iam creating new freenas for replication of our primary freenas.
