Hello

I have a problem.. the disks show up in "view disk" but they are not available in volumemanager?

In shell ls /dev both the devices are available?... i dont understand this.

I use an lsi (ibm 1015) flashed to "it-mode" with 2 samsung 500gb disks.

Supermicro x11ssm
Xeon 1240v5
48gb ecc ram

Have tried both vmware esxi and proxmox..

What happens if you try it on bare metal, i.e. without virtualization?

What version of FreeNAS are you running? Did you flash the HBA with the correct version of the firmware?

The system is just set up, so the newest version aviable.

I have tried 2 versions of the firmware, both ver16 and now the newest ver20..
When used ver16 freenas told me something about old version and didnt match bios something.. doesnt remeber.
But now with ver20 i dont get any fault messages.

The adapter shows up fine if i "lspci" in shell..

I have not tried bare metal, but if i dont get it running i may try.
I really want to get this running so i can set up my other server vms.

In the future, please post the version number.

I'm glad to see that you are on the correct firmware for your version.

Virtualizing FreeNAS is an art. Search the forum for the stickies on the subject. One popular thread says "Don't virtualize". Another is along the lines of "If you must virtualize ..."

ESXi is the preferred hypervisor.
