Hi Guys, finally I managed to get the NFS working in my home network. What I like to do is that I can reach the home network also from my second flat when I'm out during the week.
I found the point authorized IP-adresses or hosts, but I#m not sure what I have to place there. When I follow the manual I should write 192.168.xxx.xxx/24 is that really working when I come from another network? I do have a VPN setup from between my 2 routers. They do have different IP-address areas so that one is clear for me, but how do I fix the point that I can connect from the other network to my home network. Sorry for the question but I'm a freeNas virgin ;-).

OK, here we go:

  • You're using an IP address of 192.168.1.200 on your FreeNAS server. To let you local servers access it you allow access from 192.168.1.0/24.
  • If your other apartment (flat is something really bad that happens to beer and tires) is using the 10.1.2.0 network, then you tell FreeNAS to allow access from 10.1.2.0/24
Does that help?

Sorry about that. That word strikes me like head - marines and sailors seem to think it's appropriate to fill one's head with excrement, but those of us right-thinking folks...

:D

I was a sailor.. 8 years. I used that word just the other day and I had to hang my head in shame that I've been out for 7 years and I still use the word. :(
