Hi All,

Well I am asking if the NFS server on FreeNAS can do NFS 4.1 for VMware 6.5. I see this blog about doing it with KVM and he is getting traffic on both l2 subnets:

http://packetpushers.net/multipathing-nfs4-1-kvm/

On FreeNAS I would just do LACP with 4 VLAN's and 4 ip addresses in 4 subnets and tell VMware to connect and as long as VMware could talk to all 4 ip addresses it should do NFS Trunking.

Has anyone tested this yet? It may be that I have to run Linux as a VM with bhyve so that there is an OS that can talk to VMware via NFS 4.1 and using NFS Trunking????

Thanks,
Joe

Using a VM would probably be really slow. What version of nfs does freenas currently have?

That's what I thought, no 4.1. While I haven't looked extensively, has pNFS (the part of 4.1 the OP is interested in) been shown production worthy on FreeBSD?
