New to FreeNAS - Question about Cloud Back Up (Amazon Cloud)

Hey All-

In the process of moving over to FreeNAS - purchased a FreeNAS Mini server and a handful of WD REDs - I'm moving from a Synology DS1512+ unit where there is an app that permits cloud backup to Amazon Cloud with local encryption of both the file and file name prior to upload.

I noticed from searching the forums that Crashplan and Glacier apparently have an app for FreeNAS but I've been there and had slow slow slow performance even with my 1G down/1G up connection at least on Crashplan.

So my question is....is there currently an app out there or in development for FreeNAS that permits backing up to the Amazon Cloud using file and filename encryption prior to uploading?

You can use Duplicati, HashBackup, or Rclone in a jail. There are probable more than that, but those are the ones I know about.

Thanks - never heard of those (or that they backup to Amazon Cloud) so it sounds like I have some reading to do. Thx again

Duplicati is a pretty neat utility-just has a bit of a learning curve. If you get it working though, it can definitely do what you're wanting (client side encryption).
