i am working since 1985 with server-systems.
First with Novell NetWare 4.61a on IBM XT (Intel 8086 CPU and 640KByte RAM)
then with Compaq Systempro 386/486 and NetWare 386 und 4.x
But i did not go with Novell OES.
Instead working with VMware 2.x, 3.x 4.x etc. HP EVA, FC-SAN, Datacore and now:
also FreeNAS / FreeBSD.
We are using FreeNAS as software-defined open source secondary storage - in our own datacenter and at our customers.
Using it as Backup-Storage or Archive-Storage with replication, over 10G and FC Networks with VMware.
